ACT 2- A physically rhythmic and gestural dance reaction to the seconds, minutes and hours of our lives consumed by waiting. Waiting for subways, returned phone calls, sitting on benches, at the airport, standing in line at grocery stores, in coffee shops, waiting for friends and lovers... the pot of water to come to boil.

ACT 3- A trip the light fantastic inspired by the jazz greats. An abstract movement -5 years in the making.

Be a Fishy Sponsor

Dear Friends and Family,

What an exciting time for me in
New York! I would like to share my latest plans and invite you to be a part of my upcoming show, the premiere of,
trebleBrolly -- a series of three original solo dances alongside the work of my mentor, Tami Stronach.

This show represents a significant step in my career as a choreographer. In trebleBrolly, I am working with a respected composer, talented live musicians, and a production designer to create a piece with a Rube Goldberg- inspired contraption. The evening will be shared with three extraordinary choreographers who are very dear to me. These women are making innovative work and it is an honor to be on the same program:

Neta Pulvermacher, an inspiration to my dancing and one of the main reasons why I moved to New York.

Tami Stronach, my mentor, friend, and gifted choreographer.

Tara O'Con, a compeer dancer/emerging choreographer whose work is fresh and compelling.

My desire with trebleBrolly is to design an invigorating evening of dance. The work will be taken on tour to theaters, music venues, universities, parks, and outside stages across the states and overseas. The University of Idaho has taken an interest in my work and has invited me to be an artist-in-residence next fall. I hope to use the residency as an opportunity to reconnect with my home roots and share my creativity. Additionally, I have begun to negotiate possible tour stops/residences in Seattle, Genoa and Brussels.

2010 is a pivotal year in my career as a choreographer. With many major opportunities on the horizon, I am using this time to prepare a full body of work and turn to you to help make all of these opportunities successful.

First, there is nothing fishy about being an inaugural “Fishy Sponsor.” On the contrary, the financial support you share with my company, Dancing Fish Productions, will go directly towards the making of dance. Contributions will cover studio time for rehearsal, artist/collaborator fees, set design, acquiring performance spaces, costumes, props, lighting, crew, administration, marketing and tour expenses.

No penny will go wasted and all pennies needed to reach my
goal of $2,010 in 2 weeks! That is how much I need to fully realize trebleBrolly and set aside foundational funds to make the opportunities highlighted above a reality. If everyone I mail this to gives $20, this goal will be reached with ease, and any gift, greater or smaller, is deeply appreciated.

Contributions can be made quickly and easily to my Fish Fund via http://trebleBrolly.blogspot.com OR by check: Checks should be made to my Fiscal sponsor "Tami Stronach Dance, Inc" with "Megan Sipe" in the memo line email. Mail Checks to, Megan Sipe, 423 Westminster Road, Brooklyn NY11218 **All check donations are %100 tax deductible.

If you can, come out February 2nd! I’d love to have you as my guest for the big premiere. Please visit my blog for up-to-date information about this and future shows.

Thank you in advance for your support of my work and the ongoing evolution of the entire dance field.

Best wishes for an amazing 2010!

Megan Sipe
